Message about COVID-19
At this very moment our faith is being challenged more than ever. All God requires of us is the faith of a mustard seed. Let us come together with faith in God, heart, and mind and uplift one another. If Delta Alpha Chapter may be of help to any of you please contact us and let us know how we can help.
May God Bless You!
On behalf of the members of Delta Alpha Chapter (DA), Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc., home of the “GEM City Ques,” it is my distinct honor and pleasure to welcome you to our website.
As you know we are living in an unprecedented moment in human history, a time when we are witnessing the convergence of an unyielding global COVID-19 pandemic and relentless global civic unrest around racism that has undoubtedly tested the nation's commitment to freedom and democracy.
Although each of these issues seems insurmountable there are at least two things we must all do:
1. We must all wear masks and practice social distancing for the sake of ourselves, our families, and our community.
2. We must all find ways (that make sense for us) to participate as citizens in not only pushing back against racism but also encouraging the communities in which we live and work to actively move toward inclusive excellence.
l encourage each of you to not let this time go by without engaging in the necessary labor of self-reflection. What is our collective responsibility as we witness the loss of loved ones? What can you and I do to make our communities better? What can we do personally to enhance our relationship with God, family, and community?
Delta Alpha Chapter, Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Incorporated has proudly and consistently served the Dayton Area for over 75 years. It is our commitment to continue to bring relevant community service projects in the areas of social action, education, economic empowerment, and health initiatives to ensure that the needs are met in the communities we serve and live. In support of our cardinal principles - Manhood, Scholarship, Perseverance, and Uplift - we will remain consistent and committed to being leaders of positive and progressive social change.
It is our goal to make a difference in the lives of all those with whom we come in contact. The light of Omega will forever burn bright here in the GEM City.
We appreciate your interest in learning more about Delta Alpha and invite you to explore our website and let us know if you want to get involved. God bless you and your family. Long live The Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc.
Delta Alpha Chapter
THE MEN OF DELTA ALPHA CHAPTER
Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc is the first Black fraternity founded on a historically Black college or university campus. Its cardinal principles are manhood, scholarship, perseverance, and uplift. UPLIFT is about helping communities to thrive. We believe that our collective responsibility is to always lift as we climb. With service as our watchword it is among the most important things we do in Delta Alpha chapter.
EDUCATION & OUTREACH
In Delta Alpha Chapter we are committed to improving life outcomes for our youth and one means of doing so is through education. This is by no means an easy feat, but through steady cooperation, innovative initiatives, and loyalty to community empowerment we believe we can facilitate progress in this area. Every year we provide college scholarships, grade school mentoring, and community educational programs. We are always striving to make a difference, and invite you to learn more and lend your support.
Through prostate screenings, blood drives, black male youth mentoring and tutoring, voter registration, assault on illiteracy, food and clothing drives, and other fundraisers for charitable agencies, we try to provide as much support as possible. Learn more about our work by getting in touch with our organization today. We'd love to partner with you.
Achievement Week Banquet
Delta Alpha chapter of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc. in Dayton, Ohio culminated its annual achievement week festivities at a Founders Day Banquet at Sinclair Community College on Saturday, November 17. The emcee was Past District Representative Bro. Jesse Junius. After an invocation, welcoming remarks, and a brief history by Bros. Robert Cannon, Basileus Robert Wilson, and Albert Jordan, respectively, the keynote speaker discussed four qualities of a man (courage, responsibility, resilience, and unselfish living) in an uplifting presentation. The keynote was followed by the awarding of Chapter Scholarships and Commendations. There were over one hundred guests in attendance.

DELTA ALPHA CELEBRATED ANNUAL MEMORIAL SERVICE
Every year the unincorporated chapters of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc celebrate and honor the lives of fraternity brothers who have passed in the last twelve months. Like oak trees these brothers stood firmly throughout their lives. They were men who cared about our cardinal principles of manhood, scholarship, perseverance and uplift. They gave unselfishly to support communities in need. They stood resolutely and gave of their friendship even when it was challenging to do so. Delta Alpha Chapter honors those Omega men who lived nobly until the end!
GEM CITY QUES IN THE NEWS
Every November we celebrate Founders Day, since we were founded on November 17, 1911 at Howard University. Rather than simply celebrate among ourselves we use this as another opportunity for community outreach and support, and host a week of activities the fraternity aptly calls "Achievement Week." This name was coined at the 1920 Nashville Grand Conclave when Bro. Carter Godwin Woodson introduced what would later become known as Black History Month. It began as a week of events that would celebrate the achievements of Black people. The fraternity continues this tradition during its founding month to honor Dr. Woodson and to celebrate the legacies of not only great Omega men but those who have advanced the Black community.
